Meet Jason
From helping to design and build fueling system infrastructure for rocket programs, to lowering our cost of living in City Hall, Jason has spent his life solving tough problems and serving his community.
Jason Gibbs is a husband, father, and Santa Clarita city councilman who’s never lost sight of what matters most: safe neighborhoods, good jobs, strong families, and keeping the American Dream alive. A mechanical engineer by training and a problem-solver by nature, Jason has helped build rockets, run a city, and helped countless local families thrive. Now he’s running for Congress to bring common-sense solutions—and local values—to Washington.
Jason Gibbs is a local leader, engineer, husband, and father who has spent his career solving problems and putting community first. Elected to the Santa Clarita City Council in 2020 and chosen by his peers to serve as Mayor in 2023, Jason has been a champion for public safety, local control, job creation, and protecting the high quality of life that makes Santa Clarita a great place to live and raise a family.
A lifelong Californian, Jason earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mechanical engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. He went on to work in the aerospace industry, where he supported America’s space program through roles on the Delta II, Delta IV, and Atlas V rocket launch systems.
Today, Jason brings that same hands-on, technical mindset to make government work better for us and get things done. Jason has also been a committed volunteer and community leader, serving on the boards of many different organizations, including the Boys and Girls Club, the Valley Industry Association, and the Salvation Army, supporting local students and families.
Jason and his wife, Chandra, are proud to call Santa Clarita home. It’s where they’ve lived for nearly a decade, built their careers, are raising their two young children and are active in the community.
Jason is now running for Congress to bring local values and real-world problem-solving to Washington. Jason will fight for safer neighborhoods, affordable living, and a government that works for the people, not the political class.
I'm not a career politician—I'm a husband, father, and engineer who’s tired of watching elites in DC and Sacramento make life harder for the rest of us.”

Jason Will Fix What’s Broken in D.C.
Cost of Living
California families are being squeezed from every direction—housing, groceries, gas, and energy. Jason will fight to lower the cost of living by opposing new taxes, supporting energy affordability, and holding government accountable for wasteful spending. Families shouldn't be punished for trying to get ahead. Jason knows what it’s like to balance a budget, and he’ll bring that discipline to Washington.
Public Safety
We all deserve to feel safe in our homes, schools, and neighborhoods. Jason will support law enforcement and stand up to the “soft-on-crime” policies that are letting repeat offenders walk free. He’ll push to end catch-and-release justice and restore consequences for criminal behavior. Public safety isn’t partisan—it’s common sense. Most importantly, he’ll aways have the back of our first responders.
Border Security
The border is broken, and it’s putting families, law enforcement, and legal immigrants at risk. Jason supports securing the border, cracking down on fentanyl trafficking, and ending policies that reward illegal entry. He believes in legal immigration and upholding the law—not chaos and loopholes. We need a system that works for America again, and Jason will work hard to make that happen.
Local Control
Too often, decisions about our neighborhoods are being made by bureaucrats in Sacramento and Washington. Jason believes local communities—not state or federal politicians—know best how to manage housing, schools, and public safety. He’ll stand up against one-size-fits-all mandates and protect local decision-making. Government should listen to the people—not dictate to them.
Education & Opportunity
Every child deserves access to a great education—and every parent deserves a say in what their kids are being taught. Jason will fight for opportunity, transparency, and high standards in our classrooms. He’ll work to expand career pathways, technical training, and opportunity for every student—not just those heading to a four-year college. Education should empower families—not political agendas.
